KHADIDIATOU BANGOURA

- a poetic reflection on money for all ages -
Cash, bucks, bread, green, benjamins, moolah, bags- what word do you use for money? We know many words for money and yet we talk very little about what it does to us, how it influences us and how we can manage it well; not at school, not with our friends and rarely within our families. However: knowledge is power, which is why PINKE PINKE through dance and rap aims to break down the different dimensions of money for the empowerment of all!
PINKE PINKE is about understanding how money works; recognizing and showing that we live in a global system of imbalance, injustice and randomness, that makes it actively harder or easier for some to be wealthy and others to be poor. At the same time, PINKE PINKE looks for and proposes modes of self-empowerment to protect ourselves from financial troubles and despair. We reflect on what we wish we had known or learned about money as children and what we can pass on to today’s young people that will be beneficial for their lives. In light of the undeniable necessity of money for our basic needs, wishes and dreams, we ask ourselves: can other forms of wealth such as creativity, professional fulfillment, friendship or love even compete at all?
